Auracast™ - an outlook

It is already becoming apparent that the new Bluetooth® Auracast™ broadcast audio codec will significantly expand the boundaries of mobile hearing and hearing assistance. Previously established transmission technologies for barrier-free hearing are likely to retain their importance for many years to come, while the spread of Auracast™ broadcast audio is progressing continuously and dynamically.

Put simply, Auracast™ broadcast audio is comparable to a radio station, albeit with a limited range. If you are in a public area that is supplied with Auracast™ audio signals by a Bluetooth® transmitter, you can receive these signals with your Bluetooth® enabled hearing aids or earisMAX headphones and hear high-quality audio. Auracast™ is expected to be the technology for the next generation of assistive listening systems in the near future, improving accessibility to audio and enhancing quality of life through better hearing.

Railway stations, airports and event areas can also be supplied with broadcast audio streams by Auracast™ transmitters at a manageable investment cost. The same applies to previously unsupplied urban areas, such as shopping centres or public squares. With its components, "earisMAX" already offers all the configurations needed to implement Auracast™ broadcast audio concepts immediately.
